WhatsApp is testing a paid plan called WhatsApp Plus in a few regions, including Pakistan. Access remains limited, but early details are now out.
Monthly Price in Pakistan
Reports from WABetaInfo place the monthly fee at Rs. 230 in Pakistan. The rate is lower than in some other markets. Europe sits at €2.49 per month, while Mexico is priced at MXN 29. This follows a region-based pricing model, similar to Spotify and Netflix.
What the Subscription Adds
The plan focuses on deeper control and visual changes. Users get premium stickers, new themes, custom icons, and added chat controls. The goal is a more personal setup for frequent users.
More Pinned Chats
Free users can pin up to 3 chats. Subscribers can pin up to 20. This helps users who handle many conversations each day.
Exclusive Ringtones
The plan includes 10 new ringtones. These give more options for alerts and chat notifications.
Premium Stickers with Effects
Subscribers can use new sticker packs from the in-app store. Some stickers include overlay animations. The effect shows for both sender and receiver, even if the receiver is not subscribed.
Expanded Theme Options
Users can choose from 18 color themes. Options include Vibrant Blue, Royal Purple, Deep Navy, Bright Lavender, Charcoal Grey, Coral Orange, Forest Green, Teal, Burgundy, and Earl Brown. The list also features Sandy Beige, Emerald Green, Bright Yellow, Olive Green, Fuchsia Pink, Crimson Red, Sunset Orange, and Golden Yellow. This range supports different style preferences.
New App Icons
WhatsApp Plus adds 14 icon styles. Some use glitter effects or electric blue tones. Others follow cosmic or textured designs. Pastel options include lavender, sky blue, and peach. There are also simple outline icons in light green and black and white.
Bulk Chat Settings
Users can apply themes, tones, and ringtones to many chats at once. New chats added to a group follow the same setup. This keeps settings consistent and saves time.
Limited Access for Now
The feature is still in testing. It is available to a small group of Android users on the latest version. An iOS release may follow later. More details should appear as testing expands.
