Google may be preparing changes to the Fitbit brand, based on new references spotted in app store listings and software files. There has been no official statement from the company. Still, recent findings have created strong speculation about a possible shift in branding strategy.
Some reports suggest Fitbit services could move under a wider Google Health identity. This would affect software, subscriptions, and premium features tied to Fitbit devices.
Google Health Premium References Appear in Listings
Users in several regions, mainly in Europe, noticed mentions of “Google Health Premium” on the Google Play Store. These appeared during purchases linked to Pixel Watch and Fitbit devices.
The same name also appeared in an Apple App Store listing. It showed in-app purchases labeled under Google Health Premium. Pricing matched the current Fitbit Premium subscription. This raised questions about a possible rebrand rather than a new service.
A separate report also mentions a new Google Health logo. It is described as a paint-stroke heart icon using Google’s gradient colors. This design aligns with Google’s newer visual style seen across other services.
However, many of these references were later removed from app stores. This makes it unclear if the changes were final or part of internal testing.
Subscription Plans May Stay Separate from Google Bundles
Early details suggest that Google Health Premium or Fitbit Premium may not merge into Google One or Google AI subscription plans. Instead, they could remain as a separate paid service.
At present, Fitbit Premium is only bundled in select Google subscriptions in the UK. There is no confirmation of expansion to other regions.
Fitbit Brand May Still Exist on Hardware
Even with possible software changes, the Fitbit name may not disappear completely. Reports suggest Google may continue using it for hardware products.
