ElevenLabs Launches a New AI-Powered Music-Generation App

ElevenLabs has quietly launched a new iOS app called ElevenMusic, stepping into the growing space of AI music creation. The app allows users to generate songs using simple text prompts and explore music created by others. With this move, the company is pushing beyond its roots in voice AI.

The app appeared on the App Store weeks ago and officially launched on April 1. It signals a clear shift in strategy. ElevenLabs is no longer focused only on voice tools. It is now building products across different creative formats, including music, to stay competitive as AI tools become more common.

ElevenMusic is free to use for now. Users can create up to seven songs per day. They can control song length, choose whether to include lyrics, and adjust the writing style. The process feels simple and quick, aimed at both casual users and creators.

The app also includes discovery features. Users can listen to tracks made by others and create remixes using new prompts. These remixes count toward the daily limit. There are also live stations, curated albums, and mood-based playlists like Focus, Energy, Relax, Late Night, Cosmic, and Chill. Sections such as top charts, trending tracks, and new releases give it a familiar streaming feel.

For heavier use, ElevenLabs offers a Pro plan. It costs $9.99 per month or $95.90 per year. Subscribers can create up to 500 tracks monthly and get over 500 GB of storage, along with access to a wider range of styles.

The company has been expanding fast. It raised $500 million earlier this year at an $11 billion valuation. In recent months, it has released music tools, partnered with producers on an AI-generated album, and built products for ads, voiceovers, and video.

With ElevenMusic, the company is testing how far AI can go in creative work. It may also explore ways for users to earn from their content in the future.
