A National Assembly standing committee has requested a comprehensive report on the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) privatization agreement, with a special focus on how employee participation, consultation mechanisms, and safeguards will be handled. The panel wants clarity on the transaction stages, decision-making processes, and outcomes as part of ongoing oversight of the airline’s transfer to new management. Lawmakers stressed that protecting employee rights and ensuring transparency should be key elements of the final report to be submitted at the committee’s next meeting.
